Artist Needed to Mentor Students for History Makers Book Project on 10-24-26

YARN is seeking artist volunteers to mentor students participating in YARN's African American History Makers project.  The Mayflower African American History Makers project will highlight 10-12 History Markers from the Mayflower Community.  Our goal is to have 2 students per history maker to write the history from the history makers interview and create 1 illustration of what they captured from the interview.

YARN would love to have at least 5-6 artist to mentor students at 4 - 5 Workshops, for students to work on their writing and art project.  The dates have not been set, but probably 1 x   per month for 4 - 5 months (Oct. - Feb) At the end of the project, the outcome will be a paperback book that students and mentor will sign at the book release reception, with the History Makers.  The book will be placed in the State of AR, Historical Archives.  

This is a wonderful project!  Volunteers will not be paid; however, YARN will give each mentor a $50 gift card to help cover gas expense to Mayflower, and a copy of the book.
