Immigrant Tax Assistance

Saturday, November 21st, 2020 from 9:30am to 1:00pm (CT)

About

Arkansas Asset Builders provides tax assistance services specific to the needs of the immigrant community in our area. During the fall, our volunteers help renew Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs) in advance of the tax filing season. This process requires filling out identity and address information on Form W-7 and reviewing documents to verify identity and foreign status. This fall, we will offer two ITIN renewal workshops at the Faulkner County Library on Saturday, Nov 14 and 21. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up for one or both of these volunteer opportunities.

Volunteers in this program will help fill out these forms on behalf of our clients, ensure that clients have the right documentation to complete the process, and answer questions about next steps and what to expect from the IRS. No tax preparation is required for this program. All necessary training will be provided. Spanish-fluent volunteers are especially helpful. Contact volunteer@arkansasassetbuilders.org or the event manager for more information.
